The most common question we get is some version of "is 5 ml actually enough?" The short answer: for trying a fragrance, yes, comfortably. Here are the numbers.
Sprays per millilitre
A standard fine-mist atomizer releases roughly 0.07–0.1 ml per press, so one millilitre is about 10–15 sprays. That gives you:
- 5 ml Mini: about 50–75 sprays
- 10 ml Travel: about 100–150 sprays
How many days is that?
| Sprays per wear | 5 ml Mini | 10 ml Travel |
|---|---|---|
| 1 spray | 50–75 wears | 100–150 wears |
| 2 sprays | 25–37 wears | 50–75 wears |
| 3 sprays | 16–25 wears | 33–50 wears |
| 4 sprays | 12–18 wears | 25–37 wears |
Strong eaux de parfum and extraits usually need only one or two sprays. Lighter eaux de toilette and colognes are often worn with three or four. If you are not sure which you have, our guide to EDT vs EDP vs Parfum explains the difference.
Which size should you buy?
- Trying something new: the 5 ml Mini. Two to four weeks of daily wear is plenty to know whether you want the bottle.
- A scent you already love: the 10 ml Travel. It is cheaper per millilitre, fits in a pocket or a carry-on, and saves you from lugging a glass bottle around.
- Building a rotation: several Minis. Many of our customers keep four or five on the go and switch by occasion.
A note on price per millilitre
Decants cost more per millilitre than a full bottle. That is the trade-off: you pay a small premium to avoid spending $150 on a bottle you may not finish. The win is on the fragrances you decide not to buy.
